Cranach's Tryptich...
This altar tryptich was painted by Louis Cranach. It shows Melancthon performing a baptism, Luther taking the Lord's Supper, and sharing the cup with the laity, and Bugenhagen offering confession and absolution. The lower picture shows the classic form of Evangelical Lutheran preaching...our words, like Luther is doing in the painting, should point to "Christ, and him crucified."

The Castle Church, where Luther posted his 95 theses. Inscribed around the tower summit are the words, "A Mighty Fortress is our God...". The ELCA Wittenberg Center is located just between the Castle Church and the Elbe River.

The Luther Oak...
This oak marks the spot outside of the old city gate where Luther burned the Papal Bull of excommunication, and fueled the fire of the Reformation. In the background is the Luther home.
